How to access counselling for issues relating to infertility and involuntary childlessness

All the counsellors listed below have been accredited by the BICA Accreditation Board and have therefore been assessed as competent to offer counselling in the specialist field of infertility. If there is not a counsellor nearby, there are other options:

Some of the counsellors below offer telephone counselling or counselling by Skype if this would be suitable for you.

All Licensed Fertility Clinics offer counselling for their patients, and you may be able to access counselling at your nearest clinic, either through the clinic itself, or the counsellor working at the clinic may be able to offer you counselling privately. Please note that most clinics and counsellors will make a charge for this service. The HFEA offer a tool on their website to enable you to find your nearest clinic. See www.HFEA.gov.UK (please make this into a link). If you are a patient at a licensed clinic, some clinics offer free counselling as part of their treatment packages.
The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy list counsellors on their website: bacp.co.uk. (please make this into a link). You may be able to find a counsellors here who specialise in infertility.
