TRAUMA PERSPECTIVES ON INFERTILITY
Friday 29th March 2019
9am – 4pm
What is Trauma? How does it come about? When are our clients exhibiting trauma reactions as opposed to the effects of grief and loss? How does trauma manifest in the fertility counselling room? How do fertility counsellors support clients experiencing both past and current trauma? What’s the small “t” and what’s the big “T”?
An interactive workshop for counsellors aiming to:-
- Identify interventions and skills which can be helpful when dealing with past and current traumas.
- Explore perspectives on Trauma within the field of infertility.
- Develop awareness of the meaning and identification of Trauma and how it presents in the fertility counselling room with individuals and couples.
- Consider the impact on Counsellors of vicarious trauma.
