Job Title: Counselling and Patient Support Manager
 
Grade: Agenda for Change Band 8 equivalent
 
Hours Per Week: 22.5
 
Work Location: home working/CRGH clinic in central London: ideally one day per week on site.
           
 
This is a senior role, created to lead the counselling and patient support service. The post will involve the establishment and development of a restructured counselling and patient support service offering specialist infertility counselling and patient support initiatives to meet the needs of CRGH’s patients and donors. The postholder will manage a team of fertility counsellors and an administrator.
 
This post would suit an experienced BICA accredited fertility counsellor who has been working in fertility clinics for several years and who is looking for a new opportunity to develop their career.
 
Specifically, the post holder will organise, promote, deliver, evaluate, develop, and manage the counselling and patient support service within the multidisciplinary fertility services of CRGH. Excellent IT skills are required for this position, as policies and patient information need to be written and reviewed to meet the requirements of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act.
 
The post holder will also have a counselling case load, providing support and implications counselling to all patients and donors (individuals and couples) during their progression through CRGH before, during and after fertility treatment.  The post involves working independently within the British Infertility Counselling Association (BICA) Guidelines and the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) Code of Practice.
 
The post holder will provide consultation and education on infertility counselling and related psychosocial issues within the clinic for health professionals, support staff and patients.
