Who are we?
Established in 2010, Complete Fertility joined the family of Virtus Health fertility clinics in 2018.  We are a close-knit and supportive team of around 50 staff, with a focus on patient care, research and innovation.  Our main clinic is in Southampton with satellite clinics in Portsmouth and Bournemouth. 
 
We are searching for a Senior Fertility Counsellor to join our team.  This role will manage the counselling and patient support service and report to the Nurse Manager.  They will be a key member of the Operational Management Team and will be based in the clinic in Southampton, with the option to work from home part-time.
 
Who are you?
 
The successful candidate will have a key role in the success of the Centre, delivering a range of counselling and support to fertility patients.  In addition, they will manage the counselling service, including improving and expanding the patient support programme, conducting audits and evaluation and offering structured support to staff.   S/he will work flexibly over four or five days per week including occasional Saturdays and evenings. S/he can also look forward to working with a highly motivated, committed and supportive multi-disciplinary team.
 
The Senior Fertility Counsellor will be BACP accredited or accredited by an equivalent counselling or psychotherapy body and have a minimum of 450 hours post counselling qualification experience over a period of at least two years.  Ideally, this experience will include some or all of the following: counselling related to reproductive health & fertility, bereavement & loss, relationships, psychosexual issues, donor assisted conception and surrogacy.  Experience of facilitating a Support Group would also be beneficial.  If you have excellent communication, empathy and counselling skills but no fertility experience, we still want to hear from you.   Training and supervision will be provided by an experienced senior British Infertility Counselling Association (BICA) counsellor.     
 
The successful candidate will also have experience of working within a multi disciplinary team and have excellent IT skills.  Training in the specialist field of assisted conception will be provided and the post holder will be expected to become a member of the British Infertility Counselling Association (BICA) and gain specialist accreditation with BICA within two years of taking up post.

Essential qualifications
·      Undergraduate degree
·      Post graduate or diploma in counselling, psychotherapy, clinical or counselling psychology.  
 
Essential experience
In depth post qualification experience of counselling (minimum 450 hours supervised practice) over at least 2 years, which should ideally include counselling related to reproductive health and fertility, couple/psychosexual relationships, bereavement and loss. 
Excellent communication skills
