Hours:Part Time 
Salary: Band 6 £31,365 - £37,890
 
An opportunity has arisen for a qualified counsellor to provide therapeutic, implications and support counselling to patients seeking fertility treatment at the Wales Fertility Institute. The candidate must possess a recognised qualification in counselling and be willing to work towards BICA accreditation. The candidate should demonstrate a knowledge, experience and/or particular interest of working with emotional and psychological needs of individuals and couples suffering from fertility difficulties. The candidate will also be required to work with patients who require fertility preservation, surrogacy and donor treatment.

Applicants will also need to show the skills and knowledge to be able to contribute to assessments of the Welfare of the Unborn Child in accordance with the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act 1990. This post is a unique specialist role which requires the counsellor to be confident and able to work autonomously and in an independent capacity as well as working closely with the multi-disciplinary team. Therefore, we are looking for an experienced counsellor who can demonstrate a high degree of commitment to professional, personal and service developments. We also require you to be an excellent team player. You will be occasionally required to work from both clinic sites at Neath Port Talbot Hospital and the University Hospital of Wales Cardiff.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
