Job title: Fertility Counsellor
Hours: Part Time - Approximately 15 hours per month (Remote working) plus attendance at annual ACU staff meeting
Salary: On a fee per case basis - negotiable    
 
 
Who are we?
Established in 1994, Kingston Assisted Conception Unit provides a Transport IVF service for both NHS funded and self-funding patients. We pride ourselves on evidence-based treatment plans; delivered by a dedicated multi-disciplinary team; that gets to know our patients right from referral to Kingston Fertility Clinic through to care in the Assisted Conception Unit. We currently use Kings Fertility as our third-party provider of laboratory services and have consistently had excellent success rates over many years.
 We are searching for a Fertility Counsellor to join our team.  This role will manage the counselling and patient support service and report to the Clinical Lead
 
Who are you?
 
The successful candidate will deliver a range of counselling and support to fertility patients.  In addition, they will conduct audits and evaluation of the counselling service and acknowledge and respond to feedback given by patients in quarterly satisfaction surveys.   S/he can work flexibly and remotely to ensure the demand upon the counselling service is met. We anticipate this to be approximately 15 hours a month but this may increase alongside Unit expansion. S/he can also look forward to working with a highly motivated, committed and supportive multi-disciplinary team.
 
The Fertility Counsellor will be BACP accredited or accredited by an equivalent counselling or psychotherapy body and have a minimum of two years experience.  Ideally, this experience will include some or all of the following: counselling related to reproductive health & fertility, bereavement & loss, relationships, psychosexual issues, donor assisted conception.  The post holder be a member of the British Infertility Counselling Association (BICA) or be working towards specialist accreditation with BICA.

Essential qualifications
·      Undergraduate degree
·      Post graduate or diploma in counselling, psychotherapy, clinical or counselling psychology.  
Desirable Qualifications
·   Accreditation with BICA
 
Essential experience
In depth post qualification experience of counselling over at least 2 years, which should ideally include counselling related to reproductive health and fertility, couple/psychosexual relationships, donor assisted conception and bereavement and loss. 
Excellent communication skills
